Poetry from Angelica Fuse

Step Back

step back
a moment
strap on new
eyes
do not jump
so quickly
to judgment
wash away
the pain you
wallowed in
become
who you were
always supposed
to be.
Pigtails

don’t put
pigtails on me
they are only
handlebars
don’t try to
pin me down
define me
I will break
through the walls
of definition
don’t try to size
me up
or I will shrink
you down.

Tall Take

it’s a tall
take
so climb
as best you can
rise to the
occasion
if you are brave
meet me
on the stone ledge
of infinity
where we dive.
A Wrap

that’s a wrap
a last word
painted on the marker
a complete print.
Rummager

He moves, travels
through his own
world of cast off
goods
Some would
say he has wings
on his back,
a guardian angel
sent here to test
our faith
in humanity
I just say he
smells like piss.
