Poetry from James Tian

Glass Jar

You see it so clearly,

You speak so decisively.

“There’s nothing inside”—

That’s your answer.

I know you wouldn’t accept this:

You don’t see clearly enough.

Inside, a heart is stored,

A process is stored—

A process from “clarity” to “turbidity”…

I won’t tell you.

I only need to smile and nod.

Because my shadow has been compressed,

And your eyes have already seen—

The expression of the wind.
