“A book is a person’s most loyal friend, a priceless treasure leading to knowledge and thinking.” A person who reads books broadens their worldview, deepens their thinking, and enriches their spiritual life. Every book read brings new experiences, knowledge, and opportunities into a person’s life. Books are the most reliable bridge passing down the experiences of generations to future generations. Moreover, a person who reads is never truly alone, because a book can be both a companion and an adviser. The roots of the words “book,” “reading,” and “library” are taken from Arabic and serves one purpose, which is to enrich human spirituality.

The reforms being carried out in our country to increase young people’s reading culture are not without reason, and therefore, the development of future generations is defined by gaining knowledge and being educated. In this regard, on January 12, 2017, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, announced a decree “On promoting reading and increasing the reading culture.” This, in turn, is an important step that contributes to raising the level of reading in our country and publishing new, meaningful books. By wisely taking advantage of such opportunities and reading new meaningful works as they are published, young people can grow intellectually, deepen their thinking, and become more independent. It should also be noted that the five initiatives proposed by our President have today become an important factor in further supporting young people.

Organizing systematic efforts to raise spirituality and widely promote reading among them is becoming an important program. Thanks to our country’s leader’s special attention to enhancing reading culture, events like ‘Young Reader’, ‘Reading Festival’, and competitions held in general education schools, universities, and all educational institutions, as well as libraries opened in recreational areas, play an important role in meeting the spiritual and intellectual needs of the younger generation and familiarizing them with books. The essence of the book is eternal… This essence immortalizes thinking. Reading a book guides a person to directly harmonize with life and gain spiritual benefit. The word ‘reading’ in Arabic means ‘to read’, and today it has a broader meaning than just reading books. No source can elevate a person’s spirituality like a book.
