- Just a Christian!
I was taught to be my brother’s keeper
Yet, I am self-centred
I was taught to honour my father and mother
Yet, I am disobedience-personified
I was taught to love my neighbour as myself
Yet, I am not doing just that
I was taught to give share what I have with the needy
Yet, I am thinking what I have isn’t enough for me
I was taught to always tell the truth
Yet, I am that liar
I was taught to abstain from fornication
Yet, I am indulging in it
I was taught to have faith always
Yet, I am harbouring unbelief
I was taught to trust God only
Yet, I am seeking for ‘alternatives’
I was taught to be live in peace with myself
Yet, I am always in conflict with me
I was taught the love of money is the root of all evil
Yet, I am berserk for money
I was taught not to steal
Yet, I am embracing it as a habit
I was taught to live a righteous life
Yet, I am guilty of the world’s influence over me
I was taught not to leave a double-standard lifestyle
Yet, I am that hypocrite
I was taught not to be envious of others
Yet, I apparently cannot do without it
I was taught to be like Christ
Yet, I am just a Christian!
