Poetry from Priscilla Bettis

weep beneath white mums
you lilies of the valley
and salve the sorrow

–

silent tears descend
grief lingers in solemn hearts
farewell's bitter chill

–

shadows cast by breath
whispers weep and moans entwine
graves devoid of light

–

in stygian soil
fungus creeps and worms whisper
secrets unshackled

–

viscous memories
haunt like spirits whispering
stories in my ear

–

sun illuminates
my broken glass heart and light
remembers rainbows

  1. Nothing but Be Quiet, heart, this pure light shine steady thru the glass opened from clouds and be content.
