Poetry from Ananya S. Guha

night doesn’t happen…

Night doesn’t sleep anymore

the sound of dogs

the memories of

what never happened

silently brood one by one

night doesn’t happen

silence is moored in songs

night happens

when only these hills

are comatose

and you expect the dogs

to bark raucously

but there is silence

because night doesn’t happen

anymore

rains will suddenly arrive

and ravish night and these hills

night doesn’t happen anymore…
