Poetry from Stephen Williams

Last Call

So here

we are,

what is

true

and what

is not,

bombs blasting

eardrums

and hearts,

across the sea

and coming soon,

many of us

not wanting

to believe,

but we must

do something…

to change

the insanity.

City Coup

Hop on that daily train,

a rolling computer screen.

Hum of the rails

ignoring all the neighbors.

Habits

dictating.

On-and-off

stops.

Perhaps always leaving

and arriving…

in the same state

of mind?…

sick and unchangeable?

Somewhere

He dreams

of her

every night.

Believing

there is someone

good…

somewhere.

Everywhere

Searching for the Saints of Glory

long prairies into the sky

mountaintops with sun highlights

sea washing shores of continents

songs singing upward

a mighty voice

with millions joining

heaven here and everywhere.
