SENDING YOU STRENGTH

Today you need a comforting word,

today when it’s one of your hardest days,

when instead of a sparkle within your heart,

a wound is forming in its ways.

You see no exit, as if none exists,

pain has blurred your vision so clear,

you feel like the ground is slipping away,

and you don’t know if better is near.

It tightens your chest, as if suffocating you,

with no one to share what you’re going through,

loneliness squeezes you like a tight band,

tying you into a merciless knot, unplanned.

You believed, and they betrayed you so,

those to whom you gave everything to know,

now when it’s hardest, you fight all alone,

battling life’s uncertain storm on your own.

How I wish I had the power right here,

to make all the storms in your life disappear,

to erase every single wound that you bear,

and bring only sunshine to your days everywhere.

How I wish your beautiful eyes could rest,

and dream the sweetest dreams, feeling so blest,

waking up in an oasis of peace profound,

with only smiles on your face to be found.

Maybe I lack that magical power,

to wipe out the storms of your darkest hour,

but I can send you all the strength I command,

with a message: whenever you need me, I’ll stand.
