Poetry from Olive Springman

Unmoving creatures

Is famous to bosom

As poet is to illiterate

Opposite and therefore unimportant?

Tethered and territorial

Unwavering appendages

Unmoving creatures

Are we these bright dead things?

You can find us among these bright dead things.

You can find me under the shade of a weeping willow contemplating the radical nature of life

And floating through a checkerboard wormhole

You can find me in surrealist wonderland

Reading these melting clocks and floating apples

You can find me where the wild things are

I am militant

I am militantly insane

I am responsible in preserving the insanity and not letting it slip into deadbeat normalcy

Even when I can feel myself

Inching closer

To that not so distant beige and fluorescent world

Made in the USA

Oh say can you see

Me

Surrendering myself to the wrath of the media

The land of the

Control

Alt

Delete

The mind

Copy paste

Duplicate

Patriotic clones

And the home of the free

From the burden of having a vibrant imagination

God bless America

God bless poets

We are these unmoving creatures
