Poetry from Sandip Saha

Delusion of destination

The life seems to be a mound of muck

In which my luck is entangled

The more I try to free me from it

The more I drown in the quicksand.

Somebody of my knee age

Pounds me like a pendulum

At one end I try to love her with gifts

On the other I am bombarded with insult.

I try like a good athlete

To appear in the field tirelessly

I am disqualified every time

Can’t punish her to avoid greater loss.

I adventure to scale the summit

Taking part in the contests

New judges dump me in the drain

After luring to follow their whims.

At the start of the life race

Everybody thinks himself a champion

He looks down upon most as inferior

Whoever appears before him.

I am a lonely bird flying at twilight

My home is not to be seen

Wings are exhausted due to fatigue

Do not know whether I shall reach.

I do not have any desire nor want to exist

Like the earth or any celestial body

Each of us is floating

They are in the space

We are in the utter bewilderment.

The earth is stable

Because like the central pillar of a tent

It is under tension by equal force

From all directions.

Every human being

Is suffering from similar tensions

That of ambition, success, failure…

Due to which he/she cannot move.

I was in a great trouble so far

Climbing up the ladder of life

To compete all the time

With something or somebody.

Desires used to harass me

Like a divorced wife for alimony

Driving me to commit blunders

Just as a harassed man commits suicide.

Now I have discovered the golden old way

What the saints get after Tapasya

They have little to boast

But possess peace abundant.

I have worshiped science

Earned money, reached milestones

Now I have no desire

Nor I want to exist anymore.

Upliftment

From the very moment of our birth

we hanker after lifting ourselves

from a lower plane to the higher.

All through the course of our life

this phenomenon drives us forward.

In philosophy there are said to be

three gunas – Satya, Raja and Tama

in the order from the best to the worst.

Tama guna people are lazy, evil nature

Raja guna people work hard for wealth

Satya guna people do not work much

but full of virtues to attain enlightenment.

How to know where do I belong to now?

I need to go through all the stages

these three gunas offer.

Leaving aside idleness I should become

honest and struggle through work

to overcome one hurdle or other.

I did all these throughout my life

enduring minor to colossal destructions

now I tasted the successes –

I did scientific inventions

worked for the nation’s needs

people are enjoying the benefits

out of my work in water pollution control,

beryllium technology, ceramic synthesis …

I traveled through thirty-one countries

wrote seven poetry collections,

199 poems in 65 journals and anthologies.

Now I have attained the stage

where doing work in no more important

rather I am getting rid of all desires

to circumvent the miseries of life

which is the ultimate goal for human.

Without Hindus the humanity will not survive

Sanatan dharma is an integral part of human civilization

It is like fire and heat, one cannot be thought without the other

It was not born and it will never disappear from this world

No tyranny can slay it however brutal it may be.

It is an ocean of consciousness encompassing the existence

All other religions are floating in it, like a mother holding the kids

They all are non-existent without the mother’s milk

That provides all nutrients they need.

As man is after destroying the mother earth

Polluting it with deadly emissions of factories

Dumping all poisonous effluents in rivers

Annihilating flora and fauna in forests

As rogue boys and girls are disobeying parents

Even killing them to acquire their properties prematurely

Hindu girls are eloping with Muslim boys in love jihad

Eventually only are being murdered brutally by the paramours

Converted people have inundated the Indian subcontinent

Breeding like virus exponentially to acquire political power

Surpassing the population of their parent countries,

They have become worst enemies of Hindus.

They become united only to kill Hindus

Otherwise, they quarrel each other splitting into fragments

Cannot form a big country like India

Where Hindus live together from the antient time.

You all need to die

The Islam dawned

About fifteen hundred years ago

The Christianity birthed

About twenty-one hundred years back

The earth was born

About four and half billion years before

All of these are bound to die one day.

When the concept of Sanatana came?

It was with the first human on the earth.

As mind came along with man

Lust, anger, greed, attachment, jealousy

All were embedded in him

The eagerness for Sat Chit Ananda

Also accompanied them.

There are fool believers

Who want to annihilate this Sanatana

Invaders came to India

In different era

Killed many million Hindus

Converted much more of them

Still, they are unsatisfied.

You all killers

Can never be satisfied

Since Sanatana is not only present

In all those who are called Hindus

Mind, lust, anger, greed, attachment, jealousy

And inherent desire for Sat Chit Ananda

Are present in you too, you all need to die.
