Dreams of Endless Summer
Oh, sacred day, born on the breath of morning;
Rising from the mist of wonder, dawning
Over dusty roads of wayward spirits
Dancing endlessly through the golden wheat;
Waltzing past the green glades of childhood
And the green caravan of trees marching
Endlessly across the distant horizon.
Bring to me the sounds of thunder;
Raindrops dancing on the tin-roof of time;
The sigh of thirsty flowers, dressed
In rainbows arching across the sky.
Oh, sacred day, born of beauty, ever
My delight, knee-deep in the memory
Of endless summer days fled forever
On the sun-tanned legs of yesterday.
The Night Waits for Me
The night waits for me
In the wanton glow of starlight.
It waits for me to walk
Beneath the moonbeams
In the shallow wake of wonder
On the trail of hopeful dreams.
Chaste are the waves of yearning
Washing over ripe innocence
Locked inside the soul of love.
Free the midnight shadows
To walk the endless corridors
Leading to the soul’s awareness
Of its own delight and need.
Awaken the glow of love
To live in the midnight air
Heavy as the dew-fall -
Light as the scent of flowers
Carried on the breath of Spring.
Oh, how the night waits for me,
Caressing the secret longings
Only dreams can ever fill
And patience ever taste.
Each breathless sigh worships
hand-holding darkness
And the hearts sweet reverie.
The stars gaze down at me;
The moon kisses my bare feet;
The night writes love poetry
On the walls of my tender soul.
The night waits for me -
Dressed up in starry finery.
OH LET IT BE FOREVER MORNING
Oh, let it be forever morning
Forever dawn with light just breaking
Over some distant darkened hill -
Forever silky leaves bathed in new-born gold
And silver-throated Thrushes calling In dew-sparkled piety
From swimming reverence high
Atop the minaret of morning;
Misty, flowing notes
Calling the faithful To prayer.

My soul will find peace, if I go home...
A reminder of a place of worship,
When I'm tired, sometimes I faint,
These fatigues will make me miserable one day,
My soul will find peace, if I go home...
The angel of my heart lives in my house,
If I burn like Ali in love,
Fatima sits quietly like my mother,
My soul finds peace when I go home.
My heart is comforted,
If I avoid bad things and be content with everything,
My shoulder to shoulder life partner,
My soul finds peace when I go home.
My family cries for peace
If I pray for you in Sajdah,
If I come late, his mother is waiting for him,
My soul will find peace, if I go home ....

LIFE'S FOUNDATION HAS BEEN SET
Life's foundation has been set
Maybe not to nature's best
Little or no was our rest
During the building's crest
It was beyond the edifice
Far above decrees
Engulfed in past experiences
Sought to reflect them in peace
Rain came, wind blew
Storm wave, rain dew
Fell on the base anew
No effect we beforehand knew
For we need not struggle
On how to solve the puzzle of life's dazzle
The foundation got that to tackle
Atavistic memories
I riffle underneath the image of a child counting 5 on her palms,
I want to exhale the alternative of a dark desire.
In the telescope-
I see the stars in dark_black shades up-down.
My desire is to clutch you in my arms and watch the white board with images of relics,
Elicpse of reaching heaven.
Am in the 5th
& I still wander in the shadows of dark paintings,
I see images of waking wounds with a girl standing on her feet.
I was told in the 7th heaven,
The eclipse-relics of every song that begins with letters""
Morphs into the image of a black girl surrounded by white skins with tattoos of heaven.

I Need A Lover
When you give me that Yes,
I approve of your fragrance look,
that flash tilted stare you so carefully hid
from others, you gave me the courage
to send you a drink. I wasn't ready to give up
and go home alone.
For years you gifted me snippets
of myself, happiness I will always remember.
Even when I forget your last and first name
those pictures won't vanish.
Driving you home on those treacherous
Puerto Rican mountains was like discovering
a stolen Van Gogh, a universe of revolutionary
starry nights and wild irises. A place
where nothing and no one could touch us.
It had to end. I wasn't ready to settle,
and you insisted on hiding
from macho eyes and their complaints.
But what the hell, it wasn't all a waste.
There was a lot of good sex and beer.
Photographs
I keep getting ass pics
when what I want to see
are you and me old together
like stale breadcrumbs
I gaze at the man
I'm with, my summer
climb, nothing to stop us
from trailblazing joy
We listen to a song
from Camila,
caliente, caliente
frío y caliente
Hot, hot, cold & hot
The beach & the daiquiris
are amazing
The Myth of a Piece of Paper
I never married but yes,
I'm divorced. Same-sex marriages
were not allowed in my time.
My Lord the Moon painted lust
on my face three times.
Mr. Moon knows
I cannot manage tempests
on my own. He sends
them to Her Majesty the Sun
who then lights up my thirst-filled
lips with fire & water.
In the garden of faith
& trouble all of us tread
uncertain of the hazards
lust might avail. No
celebration, naive beliefs
blown away. A mixture
of dirt, wind, & rain.
moon's glint
the sun above

The Stillness of the Moment
It's time for lunar silent men
to strike a pose. The ivy covering
men's eyes must come off.
The hour of kisses covered
with mud has ended. Dogs scurry,
hide in deep water.
Sleepwalking cats made of glass
perched on the tree
of my remembrance shatter.
Boys and girls without wings
or halos vanish.
I sit on a high chair
wearing crocheted roses like the ones
stretched out on the skin of my drums.
Your ghost, clothed in musical silence,
watching.
Your conscience, a sore
that sways through Cocytus
staring at my face.

IT DOESN'T PASS
What is attached to the heart does not pass
Like the seam of a mother's hands that sewed a charm for her son to go to war
Like a rosebud stuck between blooming and dormancy.
Nor the sadness of a loyal dog waiting for its owner at the entrance to the city cemetery gate.
The hunger of a child looking at a bakery window does not go away
Neither is the pain of separated lovers.
All the waiting seems to last for centuries.
Sadness, fear and suffering are magnified when the poor person is left empty-handed at the end of the day.
And until the longing of the heart is not fulfilled, everything seems to be stuck in a vacuum and does not find a replacement if the goal of the heart is not fulfilled.
