(for Tara)
The Puerto Morelos Pelicans
There in the sky moving
Wild, slowly, gliding and
Ancient looking.
Maybe It’s the spirit
Of the dinosaur age,
Right there in eye and
Spirit sight strong
I watch and wonder and
Think of those far away times
Before man, and wonder
At existence
Moon Notebooks
I always kept a notebook
During travels. Keywords
To remember,- the subjects
Of prose poems and stories.
Sometimes I called myself
Saturday Moon, and
The papers were loyal
Confidants on planes and
Balconies, at desks
And waiting areas.
Words and sentences,
Frankly frame the large
Unabridged world
Wild Water Storms
The Ocean Turquoise was the
Name of the place, and it was
Storm season, the jellyfish
Stinging and the waters churning
And disheveled. But,
Even overcast air is okay
For the Terra cotta structure
Of the place and to be there
Is fine. A country with soul,
An area with delight and
both fine and rugged beauty
Stray Cats
Groups I could see from
The balcony,- running together,
Being, there by the local trees and
Shrubs, out to the interlock and
Near the warm glow of
Ground lights. Be well cats.
Stick together. Beige. Brown.
Fast. Soul. Each a soul and
The group also a soul.
Go and go well.
Lizard by the Light
Reading a book and in the nights
I noticed the green lizard on the stucco wall.
It was calm and maybe liked the warmth of the nearby light. That balcony had a view where
One could see the wondrous grounds
And the sense sea beyond. Magic. The
Things that make for mystery and
Open mystical lyrical areas and feelings,
Attitudes and spiritual awakenings.
To have a good lace and literature,
To have a soulmate and the southern
Worlds and salt water tides…
Playa Del Carmen Rosary
The bright days. Coffee shop. Outlet stands of wares…jewellery and clothing. One of the
First places had a magical and soulful rosary. What a find. I should have bought two. It has lasted all these years, colourful and Godly. A piece of that place and some help to pray and remember and strive for the divine, the eternal.
Clear Water Calm
The Ocean. See the sea. How could it be so clear and warm, healing, and fine? A great place in the world. Expatriates. Locals. Tourists. But room for everyone. The strong ancient sun. Calm. Everything is alive but still calm. An inner prayer is happening. There must be a spiritual light besides the worldly light, an enlightening light, a light that we look for again but that has also been with us since the beginning…
