Poetry from Milka J. Šolaja

WORD BY WORD

Word by word and the day passes,

I tell you what you want to hear…

On the other hand, your sweet voice

with which you caress me warmly and tenderly.

I love it when I forget about myself

when only you exist in my words…

You listen to me carefully, carried high

in your eyes fear, as if you are afraid.

What are you afraid of? Love or sadness,

don’t worry while I dream about you…

While my kisses take off like birds,

and I caress you in my sleep all night.

I whisper to you gently all the words I know,

with which I want to express my love…

While stardust flies through my eye,

do you feel that I love you, with my whole heart.

I get carried away and words flow,

feelings slide from my chest…

Sometimes I don’t even know what I want to say to you,

all words are sincere and close to you.

I speak more and more, I have to say everything,

because my rhymes flow from my mouth…

I don’t speak other people’s thoughts or quotes,

your name is in every word.

I will always have something to tell you

as long as you love and want to hear…

Words and unrest will often meet

letters will merge, faces will cross.

And so word by word!
