Poetry from Taylor Dibbert

The Ugly American

He’s at the

Airport in Doha

At the gate

And waiting

For his flight,

Then an

American dude

Shows up

And starts complaining

About a couple people

Taking naps

On the floor,

The American dude

Has no idea

How silly and sad

He looks,

The ugly American,

Still a thing

After all these years.
